BEVERLEY & GRAHAM ... You are in our Thoughts

Most of my KwaZulu Natal scrapbooking students have probably by now come to know Beverley Dow alias the 'Green Mamba'. You also probably remember how Tha Teacha and the TP Gang spent a Saturday helping Beverley complete her parents' 50th wedding anniversary invitations and she probably still is cursing me for coming up with such a labour intensive design (see blog entry of 4 April 2006 below).

But Beverley, I am sure today you are thinking that it was all worthwhile. The reason I say this, is because Beverley's Mom, Jennie, passed away on Tuesday, 30 September 2008 at the young age of 73 after living with cancer for 14 years. Beverley says that her Mom was still dancing at her grand daughter, Kerryn's wedding earlier in May this year. Jennie's funeral is on Saturday, 4 October 2008 and I am sure that on Saturday, Beverley and her family will have some closure.

We are all thinking of you and your family today and would like to leave you with this message:

In the spring of life, in the flower of youth,

Everything is bright and new.In the summer of life,

Time of growth and change,

Each day brings new dreams to pursue. In the autumn of life,

There’s a settling down - Contentment and sureness in what we do.

In the winter of life, Comes peace and wisdom,

Time to relax and reminisce, too...

But with the passing of these seasons,

Life is still not done, not through,

For there is yet another season,

When each spirit is renewed.

And it is in this calm fifth season,

In this hopeful second spring,

A time of cleansing and rebirth,

A time of new awakening.

Each person’s life will come full circle,

Even as the seasons do,

To start another, different life,

Much better than the one we knew.

IMAGINE ... 50 YEARS OF MARRIAGE

- Tuesday, 4 April 2006
An ever faithful scrapbooking student of mine, BEVERLEY DOW (teacher's pet #...??) is currently creating twenty eight, 50th anniversary invitation cards for a secret celebration of her parents' 50 years of married life together. After three lessons we have completed the final product to be used as a master in creating twenty seven more.
Beverley is getting a bit despondent which is quite understandable - creating 28 copies of every component (and there are LOTS of components) is not what one would call 'having serious fun'. There is one plus point however she has until October this year to complete them.
PS: Beverley, you know of course that all of this is self-inflicted punishment!
