a DUTCH DARE and some MONKEY BUSINESS

This week's Dutch Dare challenge put to the Design Team was to create a card with a yellow and green colour combo. I really struggled photographing this card, even though the setup was exactly the same as usual. So if just imagine the yellow and green colours being much brighter, rather a green yellow than a buttery yellow. I have also entered this card into this weeks 'flowers' challenge over at Arty Girlz.
The flowers were punched with one of my EK Success flower punches and the stems I drew and cut from one of my old garden theme templates. The sentiment was stamped and all the patterned cardstock are once again from my favourite and trustworthy Basic Grey stash. I attempted some paper piercing along the green curved shape behind the flowers, but excuse if its not perfect.
It would have been my late sister, Hiletje's 61st birthday, yesterday, 15 February. The family decided to get together for a lunch at Hiletje's 2nd husband Julius' 2nd wife (I know its a bit confusing), Rona's coffee shop in Rosettenville in remembrance of her birthday. Hiletje's youngest daughter Liesl (my niece) was there as well as Hiletje's 3rd husband, Jens.
Whilst chatting away, we spotted that one of the other clients just behind us had this tiny little monkey, which apparently was only 8 months old. If you've ever thought you knew what hyper activeness looks like, you haven't seen this monkey yet. It literally did not sit still for one second, and I had my work cut out for me, just to get one or two decent shots of his cuteness. Here is Liesl holding it.
Above, amazing how interesting a plain old lighter can be....
The owner said that she just uses new born baby disposable nappies, in which she just cut a little hole for the tale. We also wondered why she is feeding the monkey sugar, when its already so hyper active. But that's exactly what she said, it makes no difference feeding him some sugar now and then as he is already so hyper.
Thanks again for taking the time to pop in here and for all your lovely comments.
