{DT Project Tammy's Scrapin Corner: Challenge #26}
[hold onto your seats and have a cuppa in hand ... as this is a lengthy post including a 3D card tutorial]
This week our theme for Challenge #26 at Tammy's Scrapin Corner is Things with Wings. I used an Eureka digi image called Butterfly and Sunflower. You can find it here.
The image was coloured with H2O's and dry chalks. The flower embellishment were stamped with acrylic stamps. ... and how true are the words of the sentiment ...
Hope you like and will all play along this week and we cant wait to see what you create with our Things with Wings theme. So hop on over to Tammy's Scrapin Corner and link your creation to Challenge #26.
TUTORIAL
Supplies
1 piece of cardstock 18x27cm1 piece of cardstock 13x15cm
bonefolder
double sided tape
designer papers (see various measurements below)
My image is 10cm wide and 12cm high
Step 1
Score the smaller piece of cardstock at 1 and 4cm
Step 2
Step 3
Fold the other parts of the cardstock up and put the other designer's paper you want to use (18x5cm and 18x3cm) on the backside of the bigger cardstock piece. The area (1cm strip) to put the double sided tape on and the area connected directly to the background area stay uncovered.
Put designers cardstock (13x3cm) on the same sized area of the smaller cardstock piece.
Step 4
Mount the image onto the biggest area of the smaller cardstock piece. The area (1cm strip) to put the double sided tape on and the area connected directly to the background area stay uncovered. The pink patterned paper behind the image measures 13x11cm.
Step 5
Remove the backing of the tape, fold over the smaller strip (1cm) of cardstock and glue the strip down to the background. If you open up the lower part of your card it will look like you see it on the picture below.
Step 6
Fold the image up and put some more of the doublesided tape to the edge of the image. Level the upper edge of the smaller cardstock piece with the image, with the upper edge of the background paper (see above), peel off the double sided tape from the 1cm strip and stick the smaller cardstock piece down onto the background design paper.
Step 7
Now stick the bottom of the smaller cardstock piece with the image to the bottom of the bigger cardstock piece (as above). The finished card should look like above and below.
I sure do hope you will find the tutorial helpful and I would love to see what you create with it, should you try your hand at this 3D card design.
