"Now, let's get to our challenge! This week is Simple Somethings. Make us a card using only one layer of cardstock. You can embellish it, stamp it, color it, do anything you wish, but you must only use one layer! That's easy right!!?? Have fun with the challenge and good luck to everyone. "
Easy right??? No not so easy, as one is always inclined to mount your image not once, but often even three times. So just on this one design element, you can see that using only one layer on a card is really restrictive. But I managed to come up with this creation using only one Basic Grey patterned cardstock. The idea was to build a patchwork around the stamped sentiment with different sized punched squares, for which I used my different EK Success square punches. The design was then embellished with corner punch-outs using another Basic Grey patterned cardstock and finished off with brads. I inked up my newly acquired 'My Minds Eye - Laundry Line' acrylic stamps for the doodle stamping on opposite corners of the design. Just love the effect of this stamp. I have also entered this card for this week's ABC Challenge which is 'Q' for a QUICK card as this creation took me much less time to put togther. Thanks again for popping in and having a look ... its much appreciated. - Simplistic signing off
